[EAS] Hawaii - mandatory evacuation - was there EAS triggered?

I'm not sure there is any way to employ EAS here. In this case, the
eruption is occurring some distance from the main caldera in the middle of
a developed residential area which no one could have foreseen it occurring
there. The islands are known for lava flowing underground to more distant
locations from the main vent. Like earthquakes, you're notified when it
happens.
They should be glad the eruptions on the islands are progressive and not
explosive (think Mt. St. Helens.)
