I think that's a question you're going to need to figure out locally.  From
what we've observed in the field, programming of EAS devices with specific
event codes can vary considerably among EAS Participants from state to
state, and operator to operator.  For example, I know of operations in one
DMA area that:
- don't use LEW for forwarding at all
- don't forward LEW, but monitor for news stories (reuse EAS as a bulletin
or a news story)
- do autoforward LEW.

That's pretty much the whole gamut of options implemented just in one DMA.

Thanks, John.  That's the question I'm really asking  To what extent is LEW
currently programmed-in by broadcasters?  I don't think we want to do an
outreach to our broadcasters just to support a temporary setting and then
repeat once BLU is implemented.
