Did anyone catch the EAS tones embedded in programming last night on CBS?
The show was Young Sheldon. Thursday, CBS, 7PM Central.
https://www.cbs.com/shows/young-sheldon/
Season 1: Episode 18: A Mother, a Child, and a Blue Man's Backside.

The setting is East Texas and there is a Tornado Warning during the show.
One shot included a TV in the Living Room of Sheldon's house.
There was an EAS alert with duck farts/two tone/and a scrolling crawl.

And while the tones were fairly well subdued, if we consider recent discussions about this here, should they have been there at all?
Having the EAS tones really added nothing to the show. The TV could have just as well had a Tornado Warning slide up on the screen.
I was half watching, half surfing the net, but it was such that it caused me to put down my iPad an see what was what.

The real kicker is that the the show is set in 1989, nearly a decade before the roll-out of EAS.
I guess that makes it OK.
