[EAS] Article - Put the A back into EAS

I posted this comment on the EAS article just now:

A very perceptive and accurate piece. The lack of a national strategy for public alert and warning opened the door for well-meaning folks to erode the core purpose of the warning part of the alert and warning equation. My good friend an colleague Clay Freinwald among others have talked about EAS as a door bell. My take: The EAS door bell is meant for a broadcast audience at personal risk for their lives and/or property. Blue, Silver or any other color alerts, well meaning as they are, take the edge off the purpose of EAS. I could go on, but would prefer to refer those who want to take the time to red the reports written by those of us who established the Partnership for Public Warning, Inc, a non-profit founded on the hells of the September 11 national tragedy.
