Bill has ranted much better....
This problem will cease to be a problem where a big power (later to be
also IP) outage hits DC. It's not a matter of if, but when. POTS lines
will still work...but nothing else. I can imagine the scene from Airplane
where all the reporters rush a row of pay phones and collectively tip
over.
Get enough generals, admirals, and congress critters who can't talk to
their staff and the toner won't even be cold before a bill lands on the
POTUS's desk mandating hardened infrastructure cost be damned.
