The two CEM event code test messages Ed mentioned were inadvertently released through IPAWS early this afternoon when a technician was working on the system. The messages were only present on the IPAWS EAS feed. Corresponding WEA messages were not generated. Because both messages contained an invalid digital signature EAS devices configured to check the signatures did not respond to the messages.
