[EAS] Engineer Emergency Credentials

A ham license by itself may, or may not get you in.
I was heavily involved in ARES.
When we did damage assessment for the Red Cross, we had to be registered with them and take classes to get into storm damage areas.
Or working with the local National guard unit, if you were in their vehicle you got in.
On the other hand though, I was waved through into a damage assessment area, just because I had ham plates on my vehicle.
No one stopped to ask me any questions.

So it does seem to be hit and miss.
Perhaps, rather than NAB, SBE or even ARRL credentialing on a national level, they could provide a framework for states or local municipalities to use as a credentialing guide?
