Robert would be right in an ideal world, but we're not living there.
Bravo Zulu to stations that have backup facilities, emergency power, etc.!
But economic realities prevent that in many cases -- especially when you're
talking about alternative AM transmitter and antenna sites.
I don't know any engineers stupid enough to go through a raging inferno or a
wall of water (well... maybe 1 or 2) to reset a circuit breaker or refuel a
generator.
So my question for Robert and others: Would you rather be right, or would
you prefer to broadcast a warning that could save lives?
