In 1989 in the morning our African Finches were going nuts. Could
not figure out why. Later that day we had our shaker.

Since then we now have parrots. They do not appear to be as capable
of early prediction as the finches. They do go nuts when we have an
earthquake, though. Last time was the Napa quake. We were at the
Ruck Estates in Lompico, Santa Cruz County (and directly above the
Loma Prieta fault) and both Lucy, our Senegal, and Harlan, our Grey,
went nuts. They woke us up, and not the earthquake.

On the other hand, being third generation San Franciscan, it takes a
lot more than a 3.0 to wake me.
