I love a good rant, and especially one that causes us to pause and think about the possibilities.
Thanks for posting again John.

I do not live in earthquake country (Eastern Nebraska) however, earthquake insurance is so cheap here ($2/mo or so) that I added to my homeowners policy years ago. I also have the earthquake event code programmed into my EAS box. You know, one of those that will never see the light of day, so not really a big deal to add it.
About three weeks ago, we had an earthquake but it was so small it barely registered. Reports of folks being awakened to their beds shaking and all sorts of other terrible affects. I was away on va-ca and didn't get to experience it. This quake was man-made. Due to Fracking operations in Oklahoma.
"Fracking" jokes aside, I imagined our EAS going off and all of my neighbors having to pony up for cracked foundations. Fortunately none of that happened, but I felt good about being prepared.

Happy Friday everyone.
