Make the IF narrow enough and the emission should survive just about any
noise scenario.
A colleague and me were kicking about the idea of placing a sub-audible
QPSK low baud data stream below the AM audio passband centered at 15-20
Hz. Sure it might be only 10-25 baud, but it can be continuously under
test and the IF bandwidth would be super resilient to most forms of noise.
A single Class A station would cover 1/2 the country. These would give
super overlap for the CONUS.
