The only thing worse than having the government break up a monopoly, is to have the government try to force competition. Fortunately, that won't actually happen under this proposal.

I can see that $231/year cable box rental fee going away only to be replaced by higher subscription fees, "due, unfortunately to the cost of government mandated app development." 

Instead of a cable box that covers up local stations that are carrying information about the alert. We will have an app that will cover up local stations that are carrying information about the alert.

An old colleague used to always say...
"Be glad you don't get all of the government you paid for."
