To add to the above (snipped for bandwidth)
IF the NWS would train their personnel to the fact that it is not necessary
to mention every wide spot in the road in a severe thunderstorm alert, it
would drastically cut down on listener fatigue.
We had one here in western IL last week where the person droned on and on
with names of towns I'd never heard of.....after 40 years in the
are......and then to add insult to injury, started enumerating all the
highways, from interstates down to state routes, that 'might be affected'
Thank the Lord that the EAS box timed out or she'd still be on the air.
