Clay,
Thank you for your comments. You and your folks in Washington state have done a fine job over the years. You've demonstrated, shared experience and written much on how to do it.
But gosh Clay, reading your succinct list makes one think, what's the point then?!!
Oh I get it. I keep forgetting about how EAS/IPAWS keeps interfering with profit. It always boils down to money, right? Why don't broadcasters just lobby the FCC to just drop part 11 all together, so broadcasters are not so inconvenienced with it. Remember broadcasters are here to make profit, all the other stuff, like "in the public interest" is just fluff and don't really don't matter anymore.
Shoot if this list are only some of the reasons NOT to provide EAS/IPAWS auto-forward alerting then it confirms it swimmingly.
Wondering if anyone can come up with a list that is positive and just as succinct, anyone, Bueller?
Frankly I'm getting tired of the same old issues. FMEA has finally started to test, i.e. NPT (and end of year EAN), so If by now, if your system is not working properly, why? If it's human issues, then when is the next training session? What's that, none scheduled, well take the bull by the horn and do it.
If the problem is technical, then fix it. Can't fix it, why not?
Folks there are issues that need to be fixed, we have the FCC's latest attempt to deal with it, so get on with writing down all the solutions and send them in.
I also have been involved as State Chair with EBS, EAS, and so on. I speak with experience as well.
Don
