[EAS] EAS monitoring sources

I think this discussion is imploding.  EAS is the advance duck and cover warning. Once an emergency event is obvious, regular media can handle ongoing information without all the interruptions. Most organizations have contingency plans in place. 

Someone mentioned earlier that some group was formed in response to 9/11. 9/11 was not an EAS event and EAS was never (rightfully) activated. 

I see no reason that amateur radio should part of EAS but definitely be a part of follow up relay of emergency information.
