Dave and others.
I did the same and reduced the 14 page Handbook to 9, that only contain the information relevant to our 8 stations here in Las Vegas. We are not LPFM, LPTV . Class D non-commercial or anything else with exceptions or waivers. All 8 of our stations are participating and all are live manned at least a significant portion of the day. None of our Sage units are set for automatic to avoid them sending unscheduled RWT's and I have defined all of our relays to meet our stations policies for delay and relay when appropriate. I have shared my edited version with the state EAS director and the Nevada Broadcasters association for their comments. So far, seems pretty good.
Even without edits that's a great improvement over the old book.

Barry,

Thanks for posting the additional info about the EAS handbook in this week's BDR.
I took the word copy that you included and did a little better customizing job than just filling in the blanks with a pencil. I also fixed the FCC's mistakes. (alerts end with EOM's AND TONES!!??)

It kind of got me wondering about how far one could go with "customizing" before it is no longer an FCC EAS handbook. I printed the cover page in color and it graces the front of the binder that contains the rest. Maybe just a pretty cover is all that's required and all of the rest can be tailored to the needs of the station?
