[EAS] NOAA Weather antenna

Many thanks for the replies. Bear in mind that for some states... like
Idaho... NOAA Weather transmitters are often well past 30 miles away.
And in the case that prompted me to revisit this issue, the two
"nearest" transmitters are both on the same frequency! Thus... my
interest in a directional antenna... and one with some respectable gain.
And it involved a radio station operating on a skimpy budget, so
price is definitely a factor.

I wasn't familiar with Wade... I'll take a close look at it. Being a TV
station, 75 ohm antennas are sometimes a plus (lots of 75 ohm coax
here!) and I may go that route for improving on my current noisy
reception here. For the radio station I was speaking to, I'll probably
stick with a 50 ohm antenna. I revisited the Tessco site and found that
their search engine limitations nearly cost them the sell because
everything that popped up when I first looked at it was north of $900.
A bit rich for this application. But, when I relied on the search
engine less and my keyboard more, I found some interesting antennas for
under $150.

Dave
