[EAS] NOAA Weather antenna

Dave,

A simple scanner antenna or disscone longer than 24" will work if the NWR
is less than 30 miles distant. Hustler makes a nice three sloped radial RX
antenna for less than $60. If you need better S/N and some
gain/directivity, 3 element yagi's cut for 160 are quite common. Larsen,
Comtelco are but a few which come to mind.  Check with Hutton or Tessco on
what they have.  Expect to pay $150 or so for a light duty commercial
yagi.  Something less for a Cushcraft or ham grade.  And something much
more for a ruggedized Sinclair, DB, or Celwave dipoles and yagi's. Been
there and tinkered with them all....  You get what you pay for.
