The Trilithic EASyPLUS, EASyCAST, and EASyCAP EAS Encoder/Decoders
currently only accept the 000000 National Location code for an EAN. A
firmware update is scheduled for early October for all of our EAS
Encoder/Decoders that provides user configuration to enable the National
Location code (000000) for any event. It also provides user
configuration to allow geo-targeted EAN messages. When the FCC issues
its next Report & Order, we will provide another firmware update that
adds any additional requirements, and at that time the user
configuration for the National Location code will likely go away and it
will be hard-coded per the new FCC rules.
The EASyPLUS and EASyCAST Encoder/Decoders began shipping in 2002, and
we have never charged for firmware updates, nor are there any plans to
begin charging for firmware updates.
The EASyCAP Encoder/Decoder began shipping in 2012 and again we have
never charged for firmware updates, nor are there plans to begin
charging for firmware updates.
