Alerting Partners -

Attached is an order released today by the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau granting a waiver to allow the broadcast or transmission of public service announcements (PSAs) developed by FEMA containing simulations of the Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) attention signal and vibration cadence. The PSAs are part of FEMA's campaign to educate the public about WEA. This order extends the waiver the Bureau previously granted last year. Under this order, the waiver is granted for an additional 18 months (November 21, 2015). Please note that this waiver order applies only to the broadcast or transmission of FEMA's PSAs that include the WEA attention signal. It does not extend to other circumstances involving the broadcast or transmission of the WEA attention signal or the Emergency Alert System codes and/or attention signal.

Please feel free to contact me, Tom Beers or Gregory Cooke if you have any questions.
