Tim - 

One of the many problems with EAS is the lack of a clear picture of what it
is capable of doing.

If your child was just saved due to the efforts of many that work with the
Amber program...You likely have an entirely differ view of the EAS than
others who view EAS as some sort of federal mandate that screws up
programming.

If your families lives were saved because they heard the Tornado Warning on
a local radio or TV station or via their Cable System....Your attitude about
the EAS is likely different than this VP of engineering you spoke of.

This is a basic case of perspective distortion with roots in ignorance.  

It will take a lot more than my old voice to convince people like these the
error of their ways.
