We learned this morning that the WebEx software upgrade allowing conference audio monitor via PC will not be pushed out until September 3rd. This means that attendees will need to use to dial-up number shown below. If you start WebEx on your computer you will see dial-in instructions on the screen. There is one additional step beyond the normal dial-in and Access Code/PIN entry: Your browser will list an ID number to dial after you enter the PIN. You should follow the on-screen instructions, the system will mute the touch tones so as not to interrupt the conference call. This syncs your phone connection with your browser session and will make it easier for us to un-mute your phone to take questions.
As you may have heard FEMA is gearing up to conduct a national test of IPAWS. In preparation for the national test, FEMA is planning to conduct a limited test in West Virginia with the support of the West Virginia State Broadcast Association and the West Virginia Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division. FEMA invites EAS participants to attend a webinar hosted by Al Kenyon on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 1:30 pm EDT. At this webinar Mr. Kenyon will present information about the upcoming test, what you should expect, and address some EAS device configurations necessary to receive the test message. The presentation will be very similar to that provided to WV EAS Participants gathered in Charleston on Monday, August 11th, and will include background on IPAWS, what it is, what it is not and how it is supposed to work.
