Our county has a small portion in a different NWS forecast area. An alert comes through for that area:
http://edis.oes.ca.gov/374829.xml
and passes a filter for "Current Watches, Warning and Advisories for San Joaquin County", meaning of course
that portion thereof, not the whole county.

You are correct. This is likely apurposeful aberration due to the lake effect snow belt. If you look at the CWA maps, BUF handles lake adjoining counties another 50 or so miles farther to east as well. This would be the only split county that I'm aware. Any others?
