Ya know, as far as knowing about a busted IP connection goes, the way I look at is this: Do we log every time our PEP or LP1 goes off the air? Of course not. Do we log every time they change patterns? Of course not. But in either case they would be unavailable for EAS purposes.
Why would an out of service IP connection be any different?
I pay attention to whether or not my RF based monitoring sources are on the air. Of course. But I don't log every time they're off either. If I choke a test then I investigate why and make a log entry. "Oh, KIRO was off the air. No test received."
Am I making any sense?
Tim
