We are aware that some DASDEC users have recently experienced intermittent polling issues when retrieving test messages from the IPAWS aggregator.

This issue has been attributed to a recent unannounced software update within the FEMA IPAWS aggregator. Specifically, a change within one of the polling mechanisms in the IPAWS aggregator last week has apparently inadvertently impacted some systems downstream, including some DASDEC users.

Please note that this issue has not impacted all DASDEC users. We are working to resolve this issue as swiftly as possible, in cooperation with IPAWS.  The DASDEC platform has provided notable reliability in polling the IPAWS aggregator, and we are looking intently at what changed in their recent server update.  The folks at IPAWS have been very good to work with, and we'll get a resolution as quickly as possible.

Please note that the DASDEC interface with other CAP systems, including EMnet, DASEOC and MyStateUSA have not affected by the change in the IPAWS system.  Also, please note that DASDEC monitoring over conventional broadcast EAS has not been affected.
