When I saw that comment from Adrianne, I paused. Never heard of a
Deracho out west. West of the divide within the inter-mountain ranges,
one might get some downburst enhanced gust fronts running down some
mountain range in front of a line. But that's not a Deracho. Deracho's
are not able to really take off in the mountain areas due low elevation
turbulence and general lack of convergence.

The only reason inter-mountain Virgina/West Virgina got battered was the
energy gathered from running 500+ miles across Illinois, Indiana, and
Ohio flat lands was eventually expended while passing across the mountains.

Also, a macroburst in this context is really a downburst. Even if one
knew of a coming micro-burst, there isn't much that can done inside a
building other than getting under a sturdy table or bench. The 100+ MPH
downward winds coupled with the inertial force of the wind accelerated
rain is like a big sledge hammer on a structure. Well built steel
structures have buckled under those conditions and many garages and
homes have pancaked.
