I once worked at a station that had its power cut for over a week.
We simply ran a satellite truck up next to the transmitter site, ran the
satellite truck as the downlink/master control, ran the transmitter at partial
power, and ran the whole shebang off the genset on the transmitter truck.
Not saying that having a 5 year supply of fuel is a bad idea. Just saying that
in emergency situations, you find that you do what you have to.
