That may be true today (although my understanding is that while the Sage Endec, for example, does send out e-mail, it does not currently log the CAP outages, although I imagine that could change in a future firmware release). However, if generating log information and/or e-mail for CAP outages is not part of the FCC requirements for certification of EAS equipment, can we be sure that EAS units will always have these functions available in the future? Unless it is a requirement, I don't think we should count on it as a feature.
