I wonder how the failure of 25% of the cell towers in the recent
hurricane sandy disaster will affect those 3g/4g plans?
Bill
Probably not, with all the money flowing under the table, to the
Comission (and lawmakers), to force this to happen. The major telcos see
3G/4G as a pulsating dollar sign, and anything that gets in the way, no
matter how important or valuable, must be swept away. This is how big
business ahways operates.
When the whole system breaks down later in a disaster, the Comission
will cover up their failure to serve the public in the name of profit,
like 'fast and furious' was covered up.
The issue here isn't so much moving away from copper. It's the disterous
consequences this has for people both in terms of cost (look what they
are already charging for service now!) and in terms of reliability.
