I'm surprised by this really. Did the NWS issue a hurricane warning,
flooding advisory, high wind advisory, etc?

Civil authority activation should've happened as well with all the
streets being flooded and downed power lines. I know that they had
their hands full, but with everyone saying "turn to radio for
information" and they get Ryan Seacrest instead of condition updates
from a human being...

To me it sounds like someone dropped the ball on this one if there was
no activation outside of the "normal" RWTs.
