[EAS] Is Sprint sending CMAS/WEA?

CAP Brain Trust:

Sprint claims they have CMAS/WEA active nation-wide anywhere there is
voice service (3G not required). It only works on a few models of
phones so far. I called a Sprint store in Omaha Nebraska, they know
nothing about it.

Does anybody know if CMAS is truly being transmitted everywhere on
Sprint? I find 6 phones from the list below which claim to be sold here
in Omaha by Sprint.

With the announcement today that NWS is sending CMAS through IPAWS, it
should be working, right? Surely a high level NWS alert is being issued
somewhere right now in an area served by Sprint. I wonder if phones are
responding? Will people be surprised by this unadvertised service? Is
the WEA in the phone turned on by default?

My understanding is that Verizon, AT&T and the rest are slowly working
on it. However, Sprint claims they can already pass the high priority
CAP/CMAS messages everywhere in the USA.

Inquiring minds want to know......

As of 2PM EDT today, NWS is now sending alerts to all CMAS-enabled
mobile devices in areas affected by a major weather event. Details in
my AWARE post:
