Yes and its optional only if a V88 box is successfully polling IPAWS.  If not then you need V89 so you cna fix any IP setup issues as V88's bug is to not allow proper IP setup changes.  My Endecs were fine with V88 but it doesn't make sense to run a buggy firmware that will bite you in teh fanny at a later date if and when you need to make a network config change.
