Would someone please explain how that helps radio???
My take upon reading the relevant section of the new rule is that radio stations would still be OK with converters long after the 2015 "drop-dead" date for converters, since radio doesn't transmit video images! That's TV! (OK, "Picture Radio", but still..)
Could someone please clarify that - or better still, mention that to the FCC? There is no point in mandating that radio - an audio-only medium - have text and/or video output capabilities. (Granted, some stations might want that capability for their website and/or stream, or perhaps their RDS/FMeXtra, but not all stations have those enhancements...)
