First, greetings to new subscribers to the EAS_Forum list. There has been a steady increase in subscriptions in the past few weeks. To those new subscribers, welcome! The Broadcast Warning Working Group, sponsor of the EAS Forum website and this list, thanks you.
We also acknowledge previous subscribers who have contributed to the appreciable body of EAS knowledge that we have all learned from. For the "lurkers" in the audience, we hope you, like those of us in the BWWG, have learned from the collective wisdom and experience of the EAS subject experts who have supported this list from the start.
For new subscribers, all of that body of knowledge is archived on the Forum website at:

Now, on to new a new development. I just posted an article on the EAS_Forum website entitled, "What's New with EAS: Waiting for One More Shoe to Drop".
The FCC released a public notice on August 17 stating that the FCC is going to "share" results of the national EAS test with the Government Accountability Office (GAO) that might have implications down the road for what Part 11 says.
Since the FCC's formal test report and an "un-redacted" GAO report are not scheduled to go public, the only metric we may see will be changes to Part 11. This is all speculation on my part at this time, but what do you who subscribe to this list think?
