[EAS] Real EAN Words on TV Slide

Alex,

Hmmm, that is interesting concept. This assumes someone is at switcher control and can switch up a net feed. When no one is around however, then automation is in control, then the source will have to be PEP source.

This sort of brings up another question: do the major networks monitor their "area" PEP for an EAN? If so, do they (would they) relay it, including the header and EOM?

Don,
Can't you automate to take a CBS or some other news service off the bird should an EAN activate? Tie the EAN to an input on automation to trigger a slate and hard cutover to some news source? I would guess that the local stations here in MPLS would be doing something similar, and have local reaction afterwards.
Just an idea, don't want to tell your viewers that your not prepared and tune away. We did that for 9/11 coverage, i grabbed a tuner and just rebroadcast a local station coverage.
