[EAS] Real EAN Words on TV Slide

A typical EAS device generated text scroll will read something like this:

"The Primary Entry Point has issued an Emergency Action Notification for Washington DC effective 2:00 PM."

Some devices insert "United States" instead of "Washington DC"

This is the active part of the EAS EAN visual that is typically scrolled across the top of the screen. There are various recommended texts for a background slide to be used with the November 9th test in circulation.

Regarding the ideas that Don presented - In the case of an EAN instructions to "tune to a trusted news source" Will be moot for the initial EAN message because all EAS participants should be carrying the same message at roughly the same time (time variance allowing for cascade delays, relays and digital coding delays).

Don Hepplemann offered these ideas for discussion:

Slide 1 idea - "Emergency Alert System Activation" " This is an Emergency Action Notification requested by the White House. The President of the United States or his representative will be speaking to the nation shortly." " This is not a test"

Slide 2 idea - "The Emergency Alert System has been activated" "Tune to your trusted news source for additional information"

Slide 3 idea - "Emergency Action Notification has been activated" The President of the United States or his representative will be speaking to the nation shortly." " Or Tune to your trusted news source for additional information"
