[EAS] Cable TV Problems

There is no revenue stream associated with cable override, which is one of the reasons why cable override was never designed into the digital cable equipment. It is a flashpoint issue when cable operators hear a broadcaster call for more rules directed to the cable industry. I understand their position to a certain extent, no industry wants additional government regulation; however, the issue needs to be addressed because it is in the best public interest.

I am concerned that the issue will not get resolved until there is a federal requirement.
