Hi, Bill/Everyone:

I case you did not notice, Apple's Siri has opened the door to the next stage of improving the interaction between humans and machines using voice.

Like Perfect Paul in his infancy, Siri has a lot to learn, but I like her already.

Siri will learn, and text-to-voice and voice-to-text will be an accepted way to interact with "things" sooner when we think. 

Your caution is appropriate both from the point of view of you being our resident "curmudgeon" and that unleashing any technology for any type of life safety application must be done with a lot of testing before it goes live.
