Hi Richard - Do you have it straight from the horse's mouth (Tom Beers or Greg Cooke) that the FCC is going to issue a statement about this later today? Or should I be developing one for circulation to the state execs? Thanks -SG

It is very likely the test tomorrow will bring about not only news coverage afterwards, but fodder for on air talent for "bits" and such. It would be a good idea to remind all Talent and production people that the FCC's Part 11.45 specifically prohibits retransmission of tests and real EAS events from authorized authorities. This means that recordings of the test in any form, especially those with SAME tones, could cause problems.
As a matter of fact, the FCC will most likely put out some word about this later today.
Better safe than sorry.
