All the more reason for a rapid, non-nonsense transition to CAP-EAS. Security and authentication for CAP-EAS will be light years ahead of SAMe EAS.

Many of us told the FCC that "Classic EAS" was/is vulnerable years ago.

One of the leading EAS box vendors made this point -- Sage Electronics.

The Broadcast Warning Working Group and some others told the FCC in our formally filed Comments that a rapid transition plan to CAP EAS is critical. Maybe now that Bill has further let the EAS spoof cat out of the bag, we may get the attention of FEMA and the FCC to sunset use of CAP Converters and old SAME EAS devices by a date certain, hopefully in the next 2-5 years.

We all bear some responsibility in perpetuating SAME EAS. We now share the responsibility to retire it.
