[EAS] CAP Polling Interval Questions

So, what is the optimal polling interval for a CAP-EAS device?  As an
engineer at heart I have a tendency to over-specify and, in this case that
leads me to recommend a very short polling interval.  What do you think is
the right number? And why?  

If all the stations in your market start out with a CAP polling interval of
once every five minutes what happens if a competitor happens to air an alert
two minutes before your station? 

Should stations in areas with different threats set their polling intervals
differently?

Do you think management would care?  

What happens if one of your listeners is injured during that interval?

Can the various device vendors on this forum comment on a default polling
interval?
