[EAS] General Question: Can't it be a software solution?

As I've often said, the most important part of having reliable equipment
takes place in the selecting process at buying time.
Cheap is not inexpensive.
The bitterness of poor quality lingers longer after the sweetness of low
price is gone.
Low price often equals high cost.
