At one site (2 stations), the EAS is one input on a pair of
4X1 switchers--the other inputs allow me to switch program
lines to different studios & a direct satellite feed (both
stations satellite programmed). Kills two birds with one
well aimed projectile & gives me flexibility for when I have
to work on the consoles.
Also allows me to use one EAS for two stations.
At the other site (one live station), also have similar
set-up. EAS is one of four inputs, the others are the main
console, production console & direct feed from the
automation computer. Again, makes life easier and gives me
redundancy.
The EAS unit can seize the program line, but it is not "IN"
the program line.
