        Yes.  I understand that.  The question is,
        what is the best "fallback" until the tech
        is improved?

        I would think, given the huge retransmission
        wars we've seen, that most stations could
        negotiate an exclusion on even the most
        annoying cable setup - if enough money
        were to change/not change hands.

        My thought was just sort of "until then."

        Similarly, my idea of reducing the 
        compression/expansion artifacts on 
        RMTs is possibly something that is
        about 10 years late, but still ... until
        things are different, it is a possible
        way to deal with the audio issues now.
