Ira:
The problem isn't multi inputs, the problem is that the output of the
ENDEC is getting back into the input so you get a copy of what the
ENDEC is now sending mixed with what the ENDEC is now receiving. This
only happens with "automatic relay" alerts. Since what the ENDEC is
now sending is what is received around 20 seconds ago, you seem to be
hearing two alerts, but it is a second copy of the original alert
delayed by 20 seconds.
The issue comes up if the receivers on the ENDEC are inputting
1.5vp-p or more, and you are using the default record and playback
levels. In that case you can get as much as +12dBm on the outputs,
that what's when the problem arises.
Simple work around now, reduce the record gain to 32 (from 64) and
the playback level to 20 (from 125), if you have high level coming
out of your receivers.
A longer description and more exact figures will be available soon,
as is a way to test to see if your settings are set too high.
