Can't really blame them.  Pretty expensive to maintain infrastructure for such a specialized application.  VOIP works just fine for 99% of those who want landlines.

Most of my stations use Skype for remotes now.  A bit of a PITA for sports PBP...lots of "free" wi-fi will disconnect you after a certain length of time & won't let you re-connect without a reboot.
