I got interested in radio in the middle 50's when my Dad came home with that
Hallicrafters receiver....Later the Amateur Radio bug bit me ....then we
moved to a city where the high school had an electronics program in a little
building out behind the main building. At one end was the Ham station
(W7SBE)...It was the late 50's and 10 was open to the world (More Ham
bites)...At the other end of the building was the Radio Stations (KCPS) with
a 250 watt GE Transmitter (complete with Phasitron). That's where the
broadcast bugs starting biting. Got my first phone between my Jr and Sr
year (1959) and was working some part time my senior year. On to Clover
Park Technical College where I loaded up on 2950 hours of Radio TV Broadcast
Engineering etc. Starting working full time Aug 1, 1961 - Make two trips
into and out of TV (Ch 11 and 13 in Seattle). Am still working, pretty
much, full time - Just not full time for one employer - No more politics for
me so it's still fun.
Pretty much concentrate on transmission systems.
