Thanks for the confirmation of my original thoughts on the Comcast VOIP vs BlueBox.  They are going to try to get a copper ATT POTS line installed but yesterday the ATT rep said that they couldn't guarantee that any line that they would install would correctly pass fax, credit card machine or modem data.   When pressed, she said that it should work normally but that it wasn't guaranteed.

Is there a specific type of POTS line that can be specified for data?  I had them specify that the line was for fax/modem use.  This is when the rep noted the non-guarantee on data.
