You must treat CAT and other cable as a transmission line, for that is what
it actually is. Any discontinuities, kinks, and other anomalies can cause
data slowdowns and corruption. Today we are passing very high speed data and
its path must meet stringent minimum quality standards.

If you have ever visited a telco central office you may notice some cable
pairs with more twists per unit length than others. These are used for DSL.
AT&T has learned the importance of cable pair quality in the rollout and
maintenance of the U-Verse system.
