I recently had a 5kw filter choke burn out and the station decided to sent it to EPD to be rebuilt. They did it in about 2 weeks and was very reasonably priced.

Years ago, I was told by Peter Dahl himself that 5hy (or in this case 2ea 5hy chokes in series) wasn't enough inductance for a 10kw single phase TX. He recommended 10hy in a single choke. This after nuking a plate transformer in a CCA FM10000g after a power increase. According to Peter, the first 5hy choke would saturate under heavy load and start overheating.
We replaced the CCA 2x5hy filter arrangement w/ a single 10hy and the TX made more power easier than ever before. YMMV, etc, etc.
